This 3-day CommVault 9.0 training is intended for personnel responsible for day-to-day administration and management of CommVault Simpana software.The course covers essential concepts, details, options, and best practices foruser security and management, system settings, policy configuration and use,media and library management, job activity and status monitoring, and jobmanagement. Students also learn how to efficiently and effectively manage data movement(backup, archive, auxiliary copy, and restore) within a CommCell group.
Doelgroep
IT Managers and key personnel with responsibility for management, configuration and day-to-day operation of CommVault Simpana software. Additionally, any person planning to take other CommVault Courses should firstattend this course to achieve a required level of core knowledge essential tounderstanding advanced material presented in other CommVault courses.
Voorkennis
Attendees require an Administration level of understanding of Windows Server.

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to perform the followingkey tasks:
- Configure and manage CommCell Console access with appropriatepermissions for users to perform authorized tasks on specifiedmanagement entities.
- Configure Library and Media options and data paths for secure andoptimum use.
- Understand data retention configuration and rules for efficiently managingdata in protected storage.
- Create, configure, and associate policies for management of data storage,job schedules, data source (subclients) and media (Vault Tracker).
- Understand and successfully execute/manage the backup and archive ofdata to protected storage.
- Understand and successfully execute/manage restore and recovery ofdata both in and out of place.
- Create a timely and effective monitoring system using event alerts andscheduled reports for successful and easier management of componentsand operations controlled by the CommServe software.
